2004-2012. The architects of the new terminal appealed to us very early in their design so as to integrate the wayfinding as far as possible into the architectural project. In search of a more poetic expression of wayfinding in an international building such as an airport, light effects, perspectival effects and shadow play were varied in many versions in order to give the graphic design a lightness that might evoke flight. The play with light and shadow provided a rich palette of whites and grays that accord perfectly with the architecture. Glass was chosen as the main material. A vertical color gradation from transparency to translucency to opaque enabled to integrate perfectly all electronic devices. The intensive dialogue at every stage of the architectural project allowed ajustments and sometimes even to eliminate certain signs to allow space and information to be one and the same.
